July 4th wreath.

This wreath by far was the easiest one yet. I took some thin wire, wrapped it around as many times as I liked, & formed it into a circle.
My plan was to go through my paper stash and cut stars but I found these felt stars in the $1 section at Joann's. I bought 2 packs, whipped out my hot glue gun and slapped that wreath on the door.
Writing this post took longer than the creation of the wreath.

(Belated) Easter Brunch

With the new additions to our family this year-my niece and nephew {twins!} I was put to work sewing baby girl's skirt to match her brothers. To continue with the theme, I used my left over fabric to decorate for brunch.

Christmas wreath

I'm obsessed with wreaths and since I only have one door, I had to start making them as giving them away.

Supplies:
Wreath form
reindeer ornaments from the Dollar Store
white yarn
poinsettia ornaments from Target (1.00 each)

Wrap your wreath and then hot glue those ornaments on!

Your mug.

After many tries and fails of the whole sharpie white mug, cup, plate, thing- I went back old school with the paint method.
Supplies:
$1.99 black mug from target
White paint for this sort of thing
Paint brush
An oven
And a stencil if your handwriting sucks as bad as mine.
I cut out my letter using my cricut and vinyl paper.
Stuck it on the mug.
Painted it.
Used a cotton swab and nail polish remover to get the oopses cleaned up.
Put the mug in the oven while it was preheating at 350 and baked for 30ish minutes. I could have or couldn't have lost track of time.
Let set for 24 hours. (Good thing I didn't wait until Christmas Eve to do this.)

I used the inside of the letter stencil to tag his (my father in law) assortment of coffee.

Update: I became so in love with these mugs from target I made on for my mother in law (l) husband (l) and next will be my sister in law (j), mom (m) and her husband (g). And even though I'm not a coffee drinker, I'm so in love with the real mug, I'm making one for myself. Diet coke would taste just fine in it!

kitchen printables

Our kitchen remodel has been one of progress. A little here, a little more there. We are not wanting to do the whole big face lift (cabinets, wall color, etc.) right now, so I'm just adding the little details.
Currently our large wall is blank. I have been looking and looking for the right thing to do with it.
I have decided to do a large mirror or chalkboard as the focal point, and adorn it will cute prints around it.
Here are the printables I made so far.

I'm trying to figure out where to upload so you can print them off too!

You're Tops.

(9 down; 11 more to go by Tuesday!)
Valentine's Day is upon us, and there's one thing I don't enjoy giving to my students as gifts, is candy. I figure they get enough from their friends!
I found this adorable idea over at thiryhandmadedays.blogspot.com. I have 5th grade boys, and hearts would just be too girlie for them I believe. So I swapped out the hearts for pom poms. Just as adorable in my opinion. Thanks 30handmadedays!

craft room clean. for now.

My craft room became a dump all place. It wasn't a place I wanted to be in. I felt it was missing something. I added just a few details and cleaned top to bottom!
I'm slightly embarrassed I let it get so disorganized but it makes for a good before!

New touches:

DIY burlap wrapped bulletin board

DIY removable table skirt
We use these tables when we have get togethers. I needed a table skirt I could remove when we needed to use the tables. I love Velcro!

My favorite update!
DIY fabric garland.

It's nothing fancy but it's a real space and finally a place I can work and feel happy.

aww fall.

Fabulous colors for some fabulous crafting!

Instead of using an expensive foam form, I found 2 straw wrapped forms at the thrift store, .99 cents a piece!
The only new thing I bought for this project was that awesome burnt orange yarn, everything else I had on hand!
