Christmas wreath

I'm obsessed with wreaths and since I only have one door, I had to start making them as giving them away.

Supplies:
Wreath form
reindeer ornaments from the Dollar Store
white yarn
poinsettia ornaments from Target (1.00 each)

Wrap your wreath and then hot glue those ornaments on!

DIY yoga set

My mom is a huge yogi. I couldn't decide what to get her and then after receiving an early Christmas present from my main man- a new embroidery/sewing machine, it hit me... a set of everything she could ever possibly need for yoga (all matching of course.) I used tutorials from around Pinterest and then altered them to fit my needs.

Yoga strap- 6 ft. of cotton webbing, 2 d rings and matching fabric folded and sewn to the webbing.

Head wrap:

I used 1 inch elastic because that's what I had!

Mat cleaner:

Mat strap:

Instead of cutting 4 of the 3x20 strips, I did one 6x20 and folded it. It made it so much easier. When it came time to slide the shoulder strap into the band for the mat, I just seam wrapped the opening enough to fit and then sewed all around.

Eye pillow: http://yogahound.co.uk/2011/11/making-a-yoga-eye-pillow-tutorial.html

Bolster pillow:
Measure pillow, cut rectangle, with right sides facing- stitch along long side. fold over edges to make an incasing leaving an opening to thread ribbon through. Insert pillow, tighten and tie wrap!

I hope this little yoga set has inspired you to jump on your mat or to make your favorite yogi a great gift!

Your mug.

After many tries and fails of the whole sharpie white mug, cup, plate, thing- I went back old school with the paint method.
Supplies:
$1.99 black mug from target
White paint for this sort of thing
Paint brush
An oven
And a stencil if your handwriting sucks as bad as mine.
I cut out my letter using my cricut and vinyl paper.
Stuck it on the mug.
Painted it.
Used a cotton swab and nail polish remover to get the oopses cleaned up.
Put the mug in the oven while it was preheating at 350 and baked for 30ish minutes. I could have or couldn't have lost track of time.
Let set for 24 hours. (Good thing I didn't wait until Christmas Eve to do this.)

I used the inside of the letter stencil to tag his (my father in law) assortment of coffee.

Update: I became so in love with these mugs from target I made on for my mother in law (l) husband (l) and next will be my sister in law (j), mom (m) and her husband (g). And even though I'm not a coffee drinker, I'm so in love with the real mug, I'm making one for myself. Diet coke would taste just fine in it!

You're Tops.

(9 down; 11 more to go by Tuesday!)
Valentine's Day is upon us, and there's one thing I don't enjoy giving to my students as gifts, is candy. I figure they get enough from their friends!
I found this adorable idea over at thiryhandmadedays.blogspot.com. I have 5th grade boys, and hearts would just be too girlie for them I believe. So I swapped out the hearts for pom poms. Just as adorable in my opinion. Thanks 30handmadedays!
